Attorney Biography

Andrew D. Stern

Andrew D. Stern, Esquire, was awarded his juris doctorate from Villanova University School of Law (1993) after graduating from the University of Michigan with a bachelor of arts in both economics and psychology (1990).

Mr. Stern began his career in a boutique practice representing commercial clients in various business disputes and collection matters. Through Mr. Stern's network of clients and referral counsel, in 1995 his growing client base asked him to begin representing various healthcare practice groups in New Jersey and Pennsylvania with respect to their personal injury protection (PIP) accounts receivables. After achieving significant results, in 1996, Mr. Stern founded the Law Offices of Andrew D. Stern, P.C., dedicated to representing health care providers in PIP matters. Mr. Stern's professionally aggressive approach has recovered millions of dollars for his clients from a wide variety of denied claims, delayed payments, misapplication of the Medical Fee Schedules, unsupported adverse medical terminations, improper PPO discounts and other inappropriate reductions.

Mr. Stern is admitted in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Supreme Court of New Jersey and the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Stern's practice is exclusively dedicated to representing physicians and related healthcare entities in recovering PIP receivables. The firm's client list includes over 200 medical providers with over 30,000 files placed with the firm. The clients include among others, hospitals, medical doctors, osteopathic physicians, orthopedic surgeons, chiropractors, physical therapy centers, durable medical equipment and transportation companies as well as diagnostic imaging centers. Additionally, the firm is presently negotiating with several health systems servicing numerous hospitals and physicians groups. The firm currently processes over 6,000 files annually through arbitration and Superior Court filings in addition to group deal programs with carriers.

Mr. Stern was previously a regular attendee of the PIP Advisory Council of the American Arbitration Association and in 2007 completed a 4 year term as a member of the PIP Advisory Council for the National Arbitration Forum (now known as "ForthRight"). Additionally, Mr. Stern maintains an active commitment to the arbitration process through communication with other members of the user community, both claimant and respondent as well as representatives of the Department of Banking and Insurance.
